People with HIV should be able to access the support and care they need without fear of HIV stigma.
Today, HIV is a manageable long-term condition. Thanks to effective HIV treatment, people can grow older with HIV, live healthy lives and they can’t pass it on to their sexual partners.
Living into older age means that many people with HIV are beginning to experience the same issues with ageing as the general population.
With 50% of people living with HIV now aged 50 and older it is important the Social Care sector has awareness of HIV, and is provided with up-to-date information, enabling you to provide respectful and supportive care.
Following this training, we hope you agree that people living with HIV accessing social care support should be treated with the same dignity and respect as their HIV-negative peers.
You can now take our quiz to test your knowledge. Once you’ve completed the quiz, you’ll be prompted to send us feedback on the training.
If you work for a social care provider and want to learn more about what training and support we can offer, please contact us at cantpassitontraining@tht.org.uk.
