Special Pride Reception

Celebrating the life of Terry Higgins

You are invited to a special Pride Reception celebrating the life of proud Welshman Terry Higgins, the first named-person to die of an AIDS-related illness in the UK, on what would’ve been his 81st birthday.

Places are limited. Please secure your free ticket by completing the form below.

The event will mark the exhibition of the Terry Higgins AIDS Memorial Quilt at St Fagan’s National Museum of History. The stunning quilt was made by volunteer quilters to mark 40 years since Terry’s death – celebrating Terry’s identities as a Welsh man, gay man, DJ and keen astrologer, as well as the huge progress made in the fight against HIV in the past four decades.

Come along to hear from those close to Terry, as well as those working to end new cases of HIV in Wales today. Final speakers to be confirmed.

There will also be a slice of delicious coconut and cherry cake for everyone – finally fulfilling one of Terry’s last requests. You can find out more on our Do it for Terry webpage.
